Sarnia Sting alumni have gotten off to a middling start in this year’s NHL Playoffs. Steven Stamkos and his Tampa Bay Lightning lost to the Habs in four straight games. Certainly a disappointing year for Stamkos after breaking his leg, missing the olympics and his mentor being traded in Martin St. Louis. The blame cannot be placed on Stamkos though, having 4 points in 4 games. This series was all about the goaltending or lack there of from the Lightning who were without their number one goaltender Ben Bishop. On the flip side Alex Galchenyuk didnt get a chance to play in the first round, suffering a lower body injury in the regular season, he was expected to miss most of the first round regardless. Daniel Carcillo playing with the New York Rangers is in a tough series with the flyers. Game 3 was a chance for the the Rangers to take the series lead, Carcillo took a big hit to the head from Matt Read, luckily he recovered. Came back, made a big play to deny a scoring chance and then got a big goal in the third period to snuff the flyers hope of a late comeback. After 5 games now the Rangers lead the series 3 game to 2.
